On the front page of the September 4, 2015 The Advocate’s “Eat, Play, Live” section is a wonderful story of how one Baton Rouge couple created their forever home.

Clients John and Sissy Bateman were ready to downsize from a lovely home that was not too large. They wisely selected a house in a great neighborhood (hierarchy of design step 1) with solid construction. A core value for the Batemans is family and unfortunately the home only had two bedrooms.

So John and Sissy hired Kevin to help them “right size” the house into their forever home. With a strategic two story addition, the Batemans gained a garage, laundry room, and space above those for 2 bedrooms and baths as “bait” to attract visiting children, grandchildren and friends. It addition also created an semi-enclosed courtyard perfect for entertaining, relaxing or sipping a morning cup of cafe’ au lait.
