The Commission for the European Communities, First European Passive Solar Competition, Award of Special Mention. International Design Competition entered while an IA Fellow in Edinburgh, with the firm of Reich & Hall. Harris had significant design input.

American Association for State and Local History, Certificate of Commendation. Presented to Old State Capitol for the Louisiana Purchase Exhibit.

Award of Merit International Illumination Design Award. Illuminating Engineering Society of North America. Outstanding achievement in light design for Fiber Optic Lighting of Louisiana Purchase Documents, Old State Capitol.

National Endowment for the Arts in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Transportation. Commendation for Design Excellence. Presented for Master’s Thesis demonstration project: Hilton Village Revitalization, Newport News, VA. Hilton Village Revitalization: Historic and Economic revitalization of a 1918 Planned Community of 500 homes, complete with recommended development and preservation guidelines.
